The Luther Allison Endowment Fund is a coordinated program of Bean Hollow Productions and the Chicago-based Blues Community Foundation, a non-profit organization established by Bruce Iglauer, President of Alligator Records, Luther's label under which he earned deserved acclaim in recent years.
The purpose of the Luther Allison Endowment Fund:
This is a permanent charitable fund established in memory of the great bluesman, Luther Allison. Anyone may contribute to this fund, at any time, and in any amount. Through tax-deductible gifts to this fund, many people have been able to acknowledge appreciation for the extraordinary gifts given to us by Luther Allison.
Indeed, this permanent fund serves as a tribute to all the great blues artists. The contributions to the fund are invested and the proceeds used to preserve the legacy of these historic figures as well as to be a catalyst for development and support of the blues music and artists of today and the future.
Luther inspired thousands of people worldwide with his love for others and his energy and passion for music. Thank you for your contribution to keep his spirit alive through the good work of The Luther Allison Endowment Fund of the Blues Community Foundation.

Here's a note from BARBARA "TypezWToes" HAMMERMAN.... There are several terrific Foundations already doing good work in meeting emergency needs and recognizing significant contributions to the field. I contribute to those Foundations and Funds myself. This Endowment Fund is designed to be a complement to that fine work. The reason I chose to use my 50th birthday to underwrite the development of this project is to create a Fund that will stay intact FOREVER! I wanted to find some permanent way to honor the work and lives of our great Blues artists and to provide a way to harness resources to help address systemic challenges they face. For example, one of the first projects of the fund will be to create a national resource directory for use by artists and artists' management, Blues Clubs, and Blues Societies. General areas of needs to be addressed: Need for medical, legal and insurance assistance and ever present need for an educated public in order for Blues Music to be understood as the powerful historical, cultural force that it IS and has been. The Luther Allison Endowment Fund is set up as a component fund of the Chicago-based Blues Community Foundation.
Every penny contributed The Luther Allison Endowment Fund will stay intact FOREVER. All contributions will be invested and income generated will be used to support approved projects. I hope you enjoy reading here about our series of kick off parties in Blues Clubs around the country through THE TOEZJAMTOUR and we invite your participation by printing and using this form.
